Update from Exchange Student Lara

I arrived on the 24th of August in Port Perry. 

Since then I am very busy with Rotary events, host family events and school.

My school is very different than in Switzerland. I am taking Grade 11 and 12 Outdoor-education.
I've learned how to canoe and how to prepare for camping trips. I have also been on canoe trips in Killarney and in Algonquin Park. I have also been on a hiking trip on the Bruce peninsula and rock climbing. I also like sport and I joined the Rugbyteam, unfortunately I hurt my knee and was unable to play the games. 

With my host-family I went to the Niagara falls. On that trip we were joined by Line and her parents, who also stayed with us for a week. Line was an exchange student 3 years ago. We also went to Kitchener-Waterloo for Thanksgiving.

In Rotary I've been to the airshow in Toronto, to Trenton airforce base, the Apple-fest in Brighton and one week ago I've been to the district conference in Toronto.

I really enjoyed my time here so far and I met a couple great friends and I really enjoy our Rotary meetings and I'm looking forward to the rest of my year.
