Message from Port Perry  Club President Robert Keeler for July 2015-2016 Rotary year.

I hope all of you and your families enjoyed Wednesday July 1st Canada Day this year, we all certainly are very fortunate to live in such a wonderful and free culture. Doris and I had a lovely trip to Kingston, Quebec City and Montreal

Tuesday June 30thto Sunday July 5th. I am all refreshed and ready to go as your President for the 2015-2016 Rotary Year. I am very proud to represent the Rotary Club of Port Perry as it has always been one of the best clubs in the district. We have an excellent Board of Directors, Secretary and Treasurer all very well experienced from their past dedication and Rotary involvement.  Jim Brady is our President Elect for 2016-2017 Rotary Year, wow what a team , and backed up by Bob Brownson our Past President who led the club to the many great accomplishments we had last year.

July 8th is our first meeting of the 2015-2016 year and yes I am proud to say we are at our new location Sunny Brae  Golf Course, this will be a great new venue bright and clean and adequate room to grow the club to its full potential.

New membership is one of our top priorities with a yearend target of  40 members.  Myself and the new board have been working hard planning for this upcoming year, our proposed 2015-2016 budget has been passed by the Board and has been reviewed and approved by the membership. The budget has been sent out by Michael Stewart and hard copies have also been made. Please treat these a confidential.

We as a Club need to put a strong priority on a suite of low risk small fund raising projects this year and the planning and organizing of a large profitable project that will start  next year and grow over the years to build a bright future for the Port Perry Rotary Club and all the charities who so strong rely on us for help. Dave Cash has a  budget  to help with the development of these potential projects, we need everyone’s input and involvement. There are already some good ideas on the table that just need to be fleshed out and support by the club.

Our Rotary Theme this year is “ Be a Gift to the World  “and we know how Port Perry Rotary has  such a rich history of this already. District Governor Michael Bell will be visiting our Club July 22nd to give us his support and District 7070 goals for the year and the priorities and focus of Rotary International. This will be an excellent night as Michael is a very dynamic speaker and highly motivated Rotarian. Please learn more about Michael by reading the July 7070 News Letter.

We are in for a fun filled year as we complete our calendar of activities. Special thank you to all those who got their membership dues in ahead of the July deadline, big improvement. Let’s focus our attention on fundraising, fellowship, giving, and just lots of fun.  I look forward to the support of each and every member.
