Brrrrr….No doubt Old Man Winter is hard upon us and will be with us until sometime around April 1st.  By the time he has gone, our Rotary Gala Dinner and Auction will be just a few days away.  In the meantime, we will be focusing on the month of December which, in the Rotary Year, is Family Month.  Is it happenstance that this occurs in the month of Christmas and preparation for the New Year?  No, it couldn’t have been better conceived.

What better source of warmth and fellowship can we have but to spend time with our families and friends that are as close as our kin.

Special to Port Perry Rotarians is our Christmas Party which, this year, will be held on Thursday, December 18th, just one week before Christmas Day.  At that celebration we have the opportunity to contribute to our community by donating an unwrapped gift that can make Christmas a happier time for a child (age 0 to 19).  Lets all do this!

This year we are “adopting” a family for whom we may just make Christmas a more joyous occasion.  The club will donate gifts and food to ‘our’ family, anonymously, with a sincere Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

In the spirit of supporting our families at this season, the Christmas Party will be the last meeting of 2014.  We will not meet on December 24th or 31st and will return to our regular schedule of meetings on January 7th, 2015.

So, to all, may you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
