It is now October and it has been a busy 3 months as your President. What an active and fun Club!

First I want to congratulate Arch and Jim Brady and all the Rotarians and other volunteers who helped out with the golf tournament. And what a success- we had a full slate of golfers, record sponsors, the course was in excellent shape, the evening was fun and perfect golf weather. Arch and Jim seemed a little nervous a few weeks before but as usual everyone pulled together and made it happen.

This was our second fundraiser in one month. AcquaRama was also a great success. I want to congratulate Steve Gajewski and his team on a job well done. And a thank you to the Township who cut the weeds and made water conditions better than it has been in many years and John Mackey for the watercraft and his waterfront management .

We have another fundraiser coming up on October 19- Toonies and Loonies for Polio. Jim Brady and Ken Graham are heading this up and if you are interested in canvasing for a few hours on the 19th- please let them know. Every dollar will be matched 3 to 1 by the Gates Foundation! We are 5 years away from world polio eradication.

And the next 2 months offer many chances to get involved in other events. October 4 is the UOIT Rotoract Fundraiser at Tosca, October 6 is the Foundation Walk in Newmarket, October 25 and 26 is the District Conference at Deerhurst Resort, November 1 is the Past President’s dinner and November 20 is our Senior’s Dinner.

Thanks to everyone for a great three months so far as President.
