Past president of the Rotary Club of Port Perry Daren Jones (2021-22) presented the Paul Harris Award to Marc Gibbons on September 28, 2022, at The Rotary Club of Port Perry’s first annual pig roast.
Marc initiated (and is the backbone of) the Port Perry Pedals fund raising events.
After successfully defeating cancer, he wanted to help support his community with the first Port Perry Pedals event, where over $40,000 was raised. These funds were donated to the Lakeridge Health Port Perry Hospital Foundation to help purchase a CT scanner for Port Perry Hospital.
Marc, while battling a second bout with cancer, was still the driving force and active in all aspects during the second Pedals event held in September this year.
This latest event raised over $17,000 to be donated to Oak Ridges Hospice and Grandview Kids.
Marc, Daren and the Team are already planning next year's Peddles event.
