Bill Swan -- The Importance of Volunteerism

Our club was pleased to have Bill Swan come and speak on the topic of volunteerism in the community. Bill is active in the Port Perry community. He is currently Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters North Durham; Chair of the Port Perry House Tour; and on the Executive Board as Treasurer of the First Port Perry Scouts. Bill is not new to volunteerism and was involved in a number of projects throughout his life. One interesting project was the East Sussex Motor Project that Bill was Chairman for in England. This Project worked with young offenders in car theft. They helped these young offenders to work on building cars, with the ultimate goal of getting them to stay out of trouble and have the chance to build and race stock cars.
